74450c73

The Osaka Science Museum is located on Nakanoshima Island directly adjacent to the National Museum of Art Osaka.
Its theme is “The Universe and Energy”.
There is a live science show with science demonstrations and a planetarium.

The planetarium is equipped with a high-performance projector that can project 28,000 stars on one of the world’s largest dome screens (with a diameter of 26.5 meters).  Also the comfortable reclining seats are very popular with visiters.

Opened in 1989, the museum was constructed to mark the 100th anniversary of Osaka City. The construction was funded through a 6.5 billion yen donation toward building costs from Kansai Electric.
